Description
These bags are a mix of produce with 6-8 items, weighing between 12-20 pounds. The contents will change weekly. Any bags not picked up for the week will be donated to a local food bank. There is no subscription fee, so feel free to order weekly, biweekly, or as often as you would like. Thanks for loving local and getting fresh with a farmer!
Orders need to be placed by Wednesday, October 25th and pick ups will be available Friday, October 27th and Saturday, October 28th from 9-3. The contents of this week’s bag are:

Grateful that @longandscott farms has brought back their weekly produce bag offering. Their subscription farming setup years ago introduced me to some of the South’s traditional side dishes and comfort foods and broadened this transplanted Yankee’s scope of the imagination when it comes to vegetables. My first bag for the 2020-2021 season did not disappoint. I love that they share recipes freely to assist in preparing items some of us have never heard of, nor are able to pronounce correctly. This weeks haul included first time vegetables in the 1 1/2 pounds of shelled conch peas and an equal portion of okra. Let me tell you…these conch peas are a keeper! I was never a fan of the ‘green pea’ growing up, still not. But this tender beauty has made it into my recipe file for future consumption. Looking forward to experimenting with the okra in a gumbo recipe on Thursday. #embracingsoutherncomfortfoods

I can’t wait to order more bags & I love the fact that I don’t have to commit to every week. I love that I can choose the weeks that have produce I know we will eat so nothing goes to waste.
